Celebrate our 50th season with a special masterwork sing-in series in February and March. Join the Back Bay Chorale and your fellow Bostonians to rehearse and sing two timeless works—Fauré’s Requiem at Trinity Church andMozart’s Requiem at the Church of the Covenant, where our story began. Come raise your voice, share in the music, and be part of this joyful community tradition.
WHAT IS A SING-IN ?
A sing-in is a chance for a community to gather and sing together - no auditions, no extra rehearsals. In fact, no singing is required if you'd just like to listen! The chorale members will be interspersed in the pews with everyone who attends - you'll be immersed in music, whether you're joining us in song or not! If you plan to sing, bring a score with you. We'll be using the John Rutter edition.
As part of the Back Bay Chorale’s 50th Anniversary Season, we join our neighbors at Trinity Church—one of the country’s most celebrated architectural landmarks and home to a choir of more than 100 singers—for a powerful afternoon of shared music-making. Together, in Trinity’s historic sanctuary, we will rehearse and sing Fauré’s Requiem, welcoming members of the public to join in voice and spirit.
This collaboration between two Back Bay institutions embodies the power of choral music to bring people together in peace and purpose. It is both a celebration of our legacy and a reflection of the values that have shaped our first 50 years—and will guide us into the next.
