About the Concert

This season we introduce ESSENTIAL VOICES, a concert series that encourages audience and performers alike to focus on a specific idea – sound, image, text, movement – connecting compositional voices across time and space to illuminate a central theme. BBC

Conducting Fellow Jonathan Mott curates and conducts a program exploring musical and poetic conceptions of the idea of peace – peace as an ideal and as a practice, how we impart peace to one another. This concert features music of Bach, Rachmaninoff, Stephen Paulus, Thomas Oboe Lee, Arvo Part and more in the acoustics and opulent beauty of St. Paul’s Church in Harvard Square.
